South Australia bans plastic bags

 From the 3 rd  of May 2009, South Australia has become the first Australian state to implement a ban on single use non-biodegradable checkout bags. This landmark decision by the South Australian Government and is a very positive step in increasing exposure about just how harmful disposable plastics can be on the environment and encouraging consumers to think twice about wasteful consumption.
